How Luxury Becomes An Heirloom

LuxeTrope magazine’s ‘Luxury Intelligence Talks’ brought international experts and collectors together to explore what makes luxury objects heirlooms

On October 20, 2026, AstaGuru, LuxeTrope magazine and Sadaf Media hosted an international panel discussion exploring how luxury objects become heirlooms and carry stories across generations. The event connected collectors, industry experts and luxury enthusiasts across markets.

Opening the discussion were Noora Al Suwaidi, who leads AstaGuru’s client relations in Dubai and the GCC region, and Sarah Rasheed of Sadaf Media. Vivek Pareek, the Editor-in-Chief of LuxeTrope, set the tone with a conversation about the enduring appeal of heirlooms and the importance of provenance, rarity and craftsmanship in shaping the future of luxury collecting.

The panel brought together AstaGuru’s jewellery and watch specialists Kristian Spofforth, Charlie Foxhall-Mayoh, Glenn Meijer, Romil Dalal and Hinesh Kotecha, alongside celebrated stylist Maneka Harisinghani. Roxane Zand, Senior Director at AstaGuru, contributed a recorded message. Together, they explored the stories behind exceptional jewels and timepieces, changing collector preferences and the growing connections between India and the GCC.

Several guests also contributed to the conversation, adding perspectives on collecting, the emotional significance of heirlooms, and the histories that objects carry as they pass between owners.

Beyond the objects themselves, the discussion highlighted a deeper shift in how luxury is understood today. Rare jewellery and watches are not simply acquisitions; they can become markers of personal history, cultural identity and family legacy. By bringing together international expertise and diverse perspectives, the event celebrated the enduring stories that make certain objects worth collecting, preserving, and passing on.
